Acts – Areou Pagou or ‘the hill of Ares’ (v.19 = ‘Arios Pagos’)

He represented the physical qualities needed to make war, to be a good soldier; Fear(Phobos) and Terror(Deimos) were said to be yoked to his chariot. (Phobias and Demons) A son of Zeus, but the one most hated by Zeus.

- Name of location set on a height in the western part of Athens
- Where ‘the Gods’ gathered to judge, make judgments
- Where the Athenian court gathered to judge capital offenses:
Ie., murder, arson, assault, religious breaches, etc.
- Also where philosophers and others publicly proclaimed their opinions.

- deisi = fearful; daimon = a lesser God called Terror, who distributes fortune.
